Gear list

What is a cycle touring trip without justifying the purchase of some new gear? I must say I do love a good bit of gear, but I am trying to keep that to an absolute minimum this time as I pretty much have all of the gear that I need. I have picked up a few bits and pieces like lights, a new handlebar bag and some spares but apart from that this is going to be one of those very minimal luggage trips. Lets face it, who wants to drag 50kg of gear across the desert in a headwind. Plus, I need to keep in mind that at times I am going to have to carry about 15 kg of water for some of the stretches between road houses.

Trip Map

Only the rest days are listed because who knows where I will end up being on any given day. If it is a good day I might get 150km done (unlikely) if it is a bad day however I might only be 30m from where I got out of bed!
